In this podcast, Michael Smith, Manager, Records and Archives Management Service at the University of Western Sydney talks about the University of Western Sydney’s Open Archives Portal.
This portal is powered by the University’s TRIM records management system and it provides online access to the University’s wonderful archive, photographic and film collections.
Some of the featured films date back to the 1920s and depict scenes and teaching programs from the Hawkesbury Agricultural College. The archive and photographic collections date back to the 1890s, when the Hawkesbury Agricultural College was established.
In his presentation Michael discusses about how he and his team integrated records and archives management in the University’s TRIM records management tool, and talks about the lessons they have learned through their Open Archives Portal Project. He concludes with a demonstration of the portal and highlights some of the fantastic archival collections held by the University.
